1. About this policy

This policy explains the cookies and similar browser storage used by Solo & Fearless (soloandfearless.com and the members area). It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more broadly.

We keep cookies and storage to the minimum needed to run the Service. We use no advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking, and no analytics of any kind.

2. What cookies and browser storage are

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. "Browser storage" (such as local storage and cache storage) works similarly, letting a site remember information on your device. Some are strictly necessary for a site to function; others are optional. We use only strictly necessary cookies, plus some browser storage that makes the program work offline.

3. Cookies we set

We set two cookies, both strictly necessary. Strictly necessary cookies do not require your consent, because the Service cannot work without them.

  • Sign-in cookie. Keeps you logged in as you move around the members area. Set by us through our authentication provider. Without it, you cannot stay signed in. It lasts up to around 400 days unless you sign out.
  • Return-page cookie. A short-lived cookie that remembers which page you were heading to when you were asked to log in, so you can be returned to it afterwards. It lasts about one hour.

We set no other cookies. We use no advertising, marketing or analytics cookies.

4. Browser storage the program uses

So that The Fearless Ones Program works when you have no internet connection while travelling, it stores some information in your own browser on your device. This is not sent to advertisers and is not used to track you. It exists only to make the program work offline.

  • A copy of your Trip File (your basics, your current trip and your deadlines), so the program and the "Something happened" help work with no signal.
  • A queue of any changes you make offline, waiting to sync to your account when you are back online.
  • The last known exchange rate, so currency conversion still works offline.
  • Which course sidebar sections you have left open, so the layout stays as you left it.
  • A saved copy of the program pages themselves, so they load offline.

Because this information lives in your browser, signing out does not erase it. On a shared or family computer, clear your browser data after use. You can also clear all of it at any time through your browser settings.

5. Third-party cookies

Some content from other providers is embedded in the Service, and that content may set its own cookies when it loads:

  • Video player (Bunny Stream). When a course or community video loads, the video player may set its own cookies to play the video.
  • Payment pages (Stripe). When you go to Stripe's checkout or billing portal to pay or manage your subscription, Stripe sets cookies on its own pages. We do not embed Stripe on our own pages, so these are only set when you are on Stripe.

These are governed by those providers' own cookie and privacy policies. We do not control them.

We do not load Google Fonts from Google's servers; our fonts are served from our own site, so no cookie or request goes to Google for fonts.

6. Do we need a cookie banner?

We set only strictly necessary cookies, which under EU rules do not require consent. We run no analytics and no advertising trackers, and we do not load third-party content that tracks you before you interact with it. For that reason we do not show a cookie consent banner. Third-party cookies from the video player or Stripe are only set when you actively load a video or go to a payment page.

7. Managing cookies

You can control or delete cookies and browser storage through your browser settings. Blocking the strictly necessary sign-in cookie will prevent you from staying logged in. Clearing browser storage will remove the offline copy of your program data from that device.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if the cookies or storage we use change. The "last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed.
